Happiness, a holy grail that everyone wants but somehow eludes many.

Summer here in North America is often a time for individuals and families to go on vacations but do vacations actually bring us happiness? This depends less on what experienced during your vacation and more on how it ends. Nobel laureate Daniel null reveals that there is an important difference between having happiness in your life and being happy about or with your life.

Something to think about: If you knew ahead of time that all of your memory would be erased and all your pictures would be destroyed after your vacation, would you still choose the same vacation?

The answer to this question can be found by understanding the difference between what happiness means for the experiencing self and for the remembering self.

The great thing is, this doesn't just apply to your vacation. It can apply to most aspects of your life. By re-examining memories and finding new and different ways of interpreting them, you can actually go from being unhappy to being very happy… and you don't even need to get out of your chair or spend any money to do it.

Make a conscious decision today and take action now towards feeling true happiness by living your life with awareness and with purpose. If you find yourself having trouble following through, I'd love to help you out.
