Let's see a show of hands… how many of you know what your purpose is in life? I have known my purpose in life since I was a teenager.

One day I was sitting down for lunch with a colleague and she started telling me how she had surveyed over 20 of her friends recently and none of them had any clue. I could hardly believe it. Having lived for many years with my answer to this with this question, I has simply assumed that most people did too. As I shared what I believed was the purpose of my life with her, tears rolled down her face.

Two weeks later she came to me over joyed with excitement. She had finally figured out her purpose in life too.

It is truly amazing what a little clarity can do help us focus in our life. Before you know it, you are discovering fulfilment in almost everything you do. I can tell you that rarely does a day go by that I am not fulfilling my purpose in life.

Here are the three questions that you can ask yourself to help you discover you should be doing in your life:

  • What comes easy to me but harder to others?
  • What would I do for work for years and years to come but would never need to get paid to do it?
  • How can I be of service? How can I give back?

I came across these great questions in a video of a keynote speech by Farrah Gray. He came from a family with nothing and literally became a self-made millionaire by the impressive age of 14.

I also came across another fabulous article by Annette Colby where she shares 10 Questions to Unlocking your Best Life. There are a few questions in there which you may find really tough. These are the ones you really need to answer.
