We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

This is one of my favourite, if not my most favourite inspirational quotes. It truly resonates with me. Until recently, I had been under the false impression that it was a quote by Nelson Mandella. It was in fact written by Marianne Williamson in her book "A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles" back in 1992.

While we hear and read things every day from various sources, remember that what we are reading is one persons perspective, their opinion, their interpretation of what resonates within them. In today's world of information overload, it is up to us to decide what we are going to believe and what resonates as being true for us. Listen and trust your inner voice. Take a few extra minutes to make sure your "facts" are accurate and not actually worse than they are.

Nelson Mandella believed that life in his country could be better. He believed that people could change. He had a vision and he took action. Would that have happened if he had placed limits on what he believed? What would happen if you believed in your vision and took action?
